That the Parliament pays tribute to the distinguished football referee, Gerry Evans, who sadly passed away on 2 November 2021; recognises Gerry as a highly-respected man of integrity, whose playing career laid the strong foundations for him to progress through the ranks of refereeing, both nationally and internationally; gives thanks for his service to the SFA and UEFA as a referee, referee's assistant and observer over several decades; commends his commitment and willingness to be a positive role model to people entering the profession, and sends its heartfelt condolences to his devoted wife, Maureen, his son, Gerry, his wider family, his many friends and the significant number of colleagues whose lives he touched.
