Welcoming the Beyond Oil and Gas Alliance

That the Parliament welcomes the launch of the Beyond Oil and Gas Alliance, an international coalition of governments and stakeholders working together to facilitate a managed and just phase out of oil and gas production; congratulates the co-chair countries Denmark and Costa-Rica, and the other 10 founding members for what it considers as their climate leadership in recognising that fossil-fuel phase out is essential to the goal of keeping the world within 1.5 degrees of heating, and looks forward to the Scottish Government making progress towards joining the alliance.
