Light Up The Night Kinross-shire

  • Submitted by: Jim Fairlie, Perthshire South and Kinross-shire, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 11 November 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-02037

That the Parliament welcomes the Light Up The Night Kinross-shire festival, which will take place from 26 to 28 November 2021; understands that residents, local businesses and organisations in the vicinity of Loch Leven are being invited to decorate the street-facing windows of their homes, flats and shops with creative light displays, which will become a family-friendly walking trail and a COVID-safe, socially-distanced art event; notes the participation of Kinross Climate Café and Broke Not Broken, with the introduction of a "swap box" for craft material in the Church Centre, and considers that this fun, creative activity will provide a beacon of hope, after the difficulties of the COVID-19 pandemic, be a neighbourhood talking point and help break down social isolation.
