  • Submitted by: Paul McLennan, East Lothian, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 04 November 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-01907

That the Parliament notes that it was recently reported that Haddington and Dunbar high streets are showing great resilience and continuing to draw customers into town centres; acknowledges what it sees as the importance of local traders and small businesses within the local community, highlighting their positive impact on the local economy; reinforces the belief that it is important to shop local, especially as areas recover from the COVID-19 pandemic; commends the Scottish Government for what it considers its commitment to 20-minute neighbourhoods, and notes what it sees as the importance of involving local communities in such planning.
