New Partnership Working Within the Scottish Mentoring Network

  • Submitted by: James Dornan, Glasgow Cathcart, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 26 August 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-00941

That the Parliament commends the partnership between the Scottish Mentoring Network, YMCA Scotland and Inspiring Scotland on mapping the mentoring provision for care experienced children and young people; understands that the mapping of mentoring services for care experienced children and young people will identify current gaps in provision, leading to ensuring that all care experienced children and young people have equal access to a mentoring opportunity; supports the Independent Care Review, in 2020, in setting out a vision for change in Scotland built on the five foundations, voice, family, care, people and scaffolding, to stop any care experienced young person from falling through the gaps, and highlights the positive impact that mentoring services make to many care experienced children and young people.
