Dunfermline Shopfronts Transformed

  • Submitted by: Claire Baker, Mid Scotland and Fife, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 15 July 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-00688

That the Parliament welcomes the new window displays given to two of Dunfermline’s independent shops, as part of a nationwide transformation by conceptual designer, Jo Sedley; notes that the makeovers given to Sew Yarn Crafty & Studio and Little Shop of Heroes are part of a Facebook campaign to encourage people to continue to shop locally and showcases the unique business story behind the shops; highlights the role of independent shops like these in revitalising town centres and offering specialist expertise and products to customers; notes that, as well as being aesthetically extraordinary, the shop windows are digitally shoppable, allowing people to support the stores online as well as in person; recognises the hard work local shop owners have continued to put in throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and encourages everyone to support local independent businesses.
