That the Parliament congratulates the Scottish Maritime Museum in Irvine on being awarded £11,425 from Museums Galleries Scotland as part of the Scottish Government’s initiative, Get Into Summer; understands that this will be used to remove barriers faced by vulnerable families in the area to access a range of family activities over the summer holidays, including craft sessions, storytelling for the under-5s, free entry to its summer festival and workshops based on the Arts Award Discover programme; notes that Museums Galleries Scotland is distributing £417,000 as part of the initiative, which seeks to create opportunities to socialise, play and reconnect for children and young people; congratulates the Maritime Museum on its award, and wishes it every success with its summer events.
