North Berwick Named One of the UK’s Top Seaside Towns to Visit

  • Submitted by: Craig Hoy, South Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 30 June 2021
  • Motion reference: S6M-00547

That the Parliament notes that North Berwick has been named one of the UK’s top seaside towns to visit by the consumer guide, Which?; understands that Which? asked thousands of its members to rate nearly 100 seaside towns and villages across the UK on a variety of topics, including the beach, attractions, scenery and value for money; notes that North Berwick received a score of 81%; understands that Bamburgh in Northumberland came in first place, and that St Andrews was the only other Scottish town included; believes that North Berwick, and East Lothian more widely, are great places to visit, and that the tourism industry is vital to the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic in these areas, and calls on the Scottish Government to do more to support the industry.
