Ayrshire Cancer Support Secures Funding to Work with Children and Young People

That the Parliament welcomes the announcement that Ayrshire Cancer Support has been awarded £195,000 over three years from the National Lottery Community (Improving Lives) Fund, to support the delivery of new support services for local children and young people affected by cancer; understands that the new service will offer specialist counselling, therapy and other support to young people who are dealing with the emotional impact that cancer can cause; notes that Ayrshire Cancer Support has also received funding to create this service from a number of other sources, including the Bank of Scotland Reach programme, the STV Children’s Lottery, the UCB Fund and the King Baudouin Foundation; commends the staff and volunteers at Ayrshire Cancer Support for their efforts to support individuals in Ayrshire affected by cancer and their families, and wishes them continued every success in the future.
