  • Motion reference: S6M-00328

That the Parliament congratulates the Atholl Arms Hotel in Dunkeld on being the first hotel in Perthshire to become a Fair Hospitality employer; understands that Unite the Union has recognised the hotel as a full signatory to its Fair Hospitality Charter; believes that by signing the charter the hotel has committed to ensuring that its workers will receive the real living wage, regardless of their age, guaranteeing hours that they can rely on, a proactive anti-sexual harassment policy and 100% of their tips; recognises that Zsolt and Edit Balogh demonstrated exceptional values and that they have taken into account the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on their workers, and are being proactive to ensure that staff have financial security within the recovery period and beyond; acknowledges that this landmark agreement with the Atholl Arms sets an important precedent for the hotels sector; hopes that hospitality colleagues and business owners will follow this exemplary example and extends its very best wishes to all the staff at The Athol Arms for now and the future.
