Royal Honours for Grocers

That the Parliament congratulates the two Scottish Grocers’ Federation board members, Abdul Majid, who owns a NISA Store on North Road in Bellshill in the Uddingston and Bellshill constituency, and Graham Watson on being appointed an MBE and awarded a BEM, respectively, in The Queen's New Year Honours List for their contribution to retailing and the community; recognises their leadership and commitment to their industry and the public that they have served over many years; commends their innovative and creative approach to operating their stores; recognises their charitable work and support for the most vulnerable in their communities; applauds the Scottish convenience sector as a whole for the essential groceries and key services that it continues to provide during the COVID-19 pandemic; acknowledges the ongoing advice, guidance and support that the Scottish Grocers’ Federation is providing to convenience stores across Scotland during these challenging times, and wishes both Abdul and Graham all the very best of success for the future as they continue to make their important contributions to their communities.
