That the Parliament commends Network Rail and Story Contracting on being awarded a top Scottish Civil Engineering Award (SCEA) following the restoration of the historic Camps viaduct near Motherwell: understands that Network Rail and Story Contracting won the award for Best Refurbishment, which recognises civil engineering excellence in transport, water, or rail; further understands that the refurbishment has extended the lifespan of the structure by at least 25 years; notes that the project saw engineers completing 1,370 repairs, replacing more than 10,000 rivets and adding 65 tonnes of new steel to strengthen the 160-year-old viaduct, and thanks Network Rail and Story Contracting staff for their commitment to ensuring the safety of all passengers who use our railways.
