Ayr’s Ina Mackie Celebrates 60 Years of Girlguiding

That the Parliament congratulates Ayr’s Ina Mackie on 60 years of service as a girl guide leader; notes that Ina has been involved in Girlguiding since she was six years old and marked six decades as a guide leader on 8 January 2023 with a surprise event at St. James’ Parish Church; understands that the event was attended by ex-guide leaders, former guides, friends and family, where they all shared stories and memories, and displayed memorabilia around the church of Ina’s time Girlguiding; further understands that the leader of the 12th Ayr Guides was presented a Long Service Award by the Scottish Chief Commissioner, Elaine Rough, and also received gifts and flowers; notes that opera singer, Nicola Cassells, performed two songs at the celebrations and was a former guide of Ina’s; acknowledges that Ina’s husband, Bill, also received an award for his support and encouragement over the 60 years of Ina’s Girlguiding; commends Ina for her commitment and dedication to the Guides, and wishes her all the best for the future.
