That the Parliament congratulates a group of filmmakers from Kirkcaldy after the completion of the Second World War action, horror romp movie, Dick Dynamite:1944; understands that Dick Dynamite:1944 is a Fife-based production of an over-the-top Second World War movie featuring a one-man army, single-handedly taking on the German army, ninjas and even zombies; further understands that the film boasts cameos from the likes of Irvine Welsh (Trainspotting author), Clive Russell (Game of Thrones/Thor), Noah Hathaway (The Never-ending Story), Nick Oliveri from Queens of the Stone Age, Dick Valentine from Electric 6 and Lars Frederickson from Rancid; notes that the film was written, directed and edited by Robbie "Steedo" Davidson, supported by a close knit team of filmmaker and actor friends, which include Shaun Davidson, Valerie Birss, Mark Burdette, Ian Gordon, Gary "Snars" Allan, Sandy Henderson, Colin "Stig" Jarvie and Graham Scott, among many more; understands that the team completed the film after a series of hurdles, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the tragic deaths of two cast members; believes that the film has already had a massive knock-on effect in the local community by providing opportunities for hundreds, if not thousands, of aspiring and established creatives and movie lovers, as well as the involvement of local business and charities; commends the team for actively recruiting people with poor mental health and addiction problems by getting them involved with a positive creative project, with many stating that it was the best experience of their lives; further commends the team for a successful sell-out screening in Dunfermline in 2022, and the upcoming screening in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, at the prestigious venue, Effenaar, and wishes the Dick Dynamite:1944 team all the best for future screenings and any future filmmaking endeavours.
