Manorview Wins Industry Trailblazer at the Scottish Living Wage Awards

  • Submitted by: Stephanie Callaghan, Uddingston and Bellshill, Scottish National Party.

  • Motion reference: S6M-07064

That the Parliament congratulates Manorview Hotels on winning Industry Trailblazer at the Scottish Living Wage Awards; notes that as a Living Wage Employer, Manorview voluntarily pays the real Living Wage rate, which, it understands, is a rate that’s independently calculated based on the cost of living, to everyone in its business at a minimum; understands that, in January 2022, the business committed to share 10% of its net profits from the previous financial year with everyone who has been in the team for 12 or more months, calculated on average hours and not on pay or role; notes that Manorview has also frozen its prices in all of its restaurants and bars throughout its 11 venues in central Scotland, including at the Bothwell Bridge Hotel in Bothwell, to help customers afford its services during difficult times, and applauds the hotel group's plans to share financial wellbeing tips with its team and to set up an emergency money pot that the team could access if they had a personal crisis that they needed financial support with.
