Commends Kelly Beattie, of Dune Hairdressing, for her Contribution to the Local Community

That the Parliament congratulates Kelly Beattie, owner of Dune Hairdressing in Edinburgh, for her work in cutting hair for homeless people; understands that Kelly has contributed to her local community by helping a client, who had experienced hair loss due to chemotherapy treatment, by shaving their hair before a wig-fitting, walking older clients along the road, after their hair cut, to ensure that they get home safely, comforting a client who came in with her new baby to have her hair done, and supporting clients going through a painful divorce; commends Kelly's fundraising activities, which have helped a local playgroup to buy equipment, as well as providing support to local charities; further commends Kelly for donating gift vouchers to Women’s Aid and collecting Christmas gift bags for homeless teenagers, and expresses its thanks to her for making PPE, such as scrub caps, facemasks and hair bands, for local nursing homes, carers and hospitals during the COVID-19 lockdown.
