Rothienorman Teen to Represent Great Britain at the 2023 World Transplant Games

  • Submitted by: Gillian Martin, Aberdeenshire East, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 24 November 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-06925

That the Parliament celebrates 17-year-old Eloise Lowrie, from Rothienorman, for her outstanding achievement in sport; congratulates Eloise for winning gold and silver in badminton and table tennis at the British Transplant Games earlier this year, as part of Great Ormond Street Hospital Hearts and Lungs team; understands that Eloise has competed in the British Transplant Games most years since she was 18 months old, as she herself was a recipient of a heart transplant when she was just over a year old; celebrates that Eloise Lowrie will be representing Great Britain at the World Transplant Games in Australia in April 2023, and will compete in badminton and tennis; understands that she must fund the trip to Australia herself and is therefore raising funds via donation; commends Eloise, who will use her participation as an opportunity to honour her donor, and also raise awareness of organ donation and the need for both child and adult donors, and wishes her good luck as she competes at the World Transplant Games.
