That the Parliament congratulates the winners of VisitScotland’s 2022/2023 Scottish Thistle Awards, which celebrate the very best of Scotland’s tourism sectors; understands that two of the 12 Lothian and Borders finalists came from the South Scotland region, and that of the 13 West Regional winners, eight were from Dumfries and Galloway, including Kitchen Coos and Ewes at New Luce, near Newton Stewart, Loch Ken Eco Bothies, The Shipp Inn at Gatehouse of Fleet, The Devil’s Porridge Museum in Eastriggs, and the multi-award winning Annandale Distillery; congratulates all of the winners and thanks VisitScotland for highlighting the excellent dining, cultural, historic and accommodation experiences available for tourists, both international and local, across Scotland, but, importantly across the South Scotland Region, which it considers to be one of the best tourist destinations on the planet, and wishes regional winners, and all nominees, all the best as they go forward to the national final in February 2023.
