Bishopton Parish Church, Nayler Award for Excellence in Church Maintenance

  • Submitted by: Natalie Don, Renfrewshire North and West, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 01 November 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-06510

That the Parliament congratulates Bishopton Parish Church on being the Scottish winner of the 2022 Nayler Award for Excellence in Church Maintenance; notes that the church has a history dating back hundreds of years, with the current building being constructed in 1814-15 and is one of the earliest examples of new-Gothic style in Britain, and understands that the Nayler Award for Excellence in Church Maintenance shines a light on the people who look after local churches and help to ensure a future for their place of worship.
