That the Parliament welcomes the wonderful achievement of Derek France, School Librarian at Preston Lodge High School, in being named on the Honour List for the School Library Association (SLA) 2022 School Librarian of the Year Award (Secondary); notes the SLA’s commitment to supporting everyone involved with school libraries, promoting high-quality reading and learning opportunities for all, and welcomes and supports the work that it understands the charity and its 2,000+ members across the UK undertake to support school staff and children to have access to a wide and varied range of resources and the support of an expert guide in reading, research, media and information literacy.
