That the Parliament commends the efforts of Fiona and Gary Maurer for completing a triathlon challenge, which is part of the disability sports Superhero Series, with their 12-year-old son Ethan Maurer who has Pitt-Hopkins Syndrome; notes that the course entailed a 1km swim in Loch Morlich, then a 20km off-road path with Ethan’s buggy, and then onto an 8km trail run; understands that Pitt-Hopkins is a severe neurological disability, which makes it difficult to walk unassisted or talk; supports what it sees as the positive attributes that sport plays in managing mental health, and considers that the triathlon is a great way to raise awareness of disabilities and promote inclusion in sport, and commends the Superhero Series, which is powered by Marvel, for offering a mass participation event for people with disabilities.
