  • Submitted by: Martin Whitfield, South Scotland, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 20 September 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-05909

That the Parliament notes that 2022 marks the 75th anniversary of East Lothian Co-operative Bowling Club in Tranent; understands that having been initially established as a club for local co-operative employees in 1947, the club’s membership has grown significantly over the years, with nearly 950 people now being members, providing various opportunities for local people to bowl and socialise, as well as participating in various local and Scottish bowls competitions; notes what it sees as the club’s important contribution to local resilience efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic when it hosted the Fa’side Community Kitchen, which provided thousands of meals to local people; congratulates the club’s committee and members on reaching this significant anniversary, and wishes everyone associated with it continued success in the future.
