The Compass Centre in Shetland Awarded LGBT Charter

That the Parliament congratulates The Compass Centre in Shetland on achieving the LGBT Charter at Silver level; understands that The Compass Centre provides free, inclusive, and confidential support and information to anyone, of any gender, aged 13 years and over, in Shetland affected by any form of sexual violence; recognises the hard work and dedication of The Compass Centre staff in achieving this prestigious award from LGBT Youth Scotland; notes that a Pride flag was raised over Lerwick Town Hall to raise visibility as an LGBTI-inclusive service, and welcomes the training and the review of policies, practice and resources that aim to ensure that The Compass Centre goes beyond meeting legislative needs and is as inclusive as it can be for service users, staff and the wider community.
