That the Parliament condemns what it sees as the attacks on the pay, working conditions and jobs of workers in the rail industry who are employed by Network Rail and the UK Government-managed train operating companies; recognises the mandates, which, it understands, have been received by the RMT, the TSSA and ASLEF trade unions from their members for the action being taken; considers that workers and others are experiencing a cost of living crisis, with RPI inflation above 11%; regrets what it sees as the inaction of the UK Government to ensure that workers in the rail industry receive a fair offer; believes that the UK Government is instead progressing what it considers to be more anti-trade union legislation, and calls on elected members in local councils, the Scottish Parliament and the UK Parliament to stand with the workers and their trade unions in their claim for what it considers a fair and just settlement.
