  • Submitted by: Ruth Maguire, Cunninghame South, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 08 July 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-05347

That the Parliament congratulates Irvine Beach for being recognised in the Keep Scotland Beautiful beach awards; understands that Scotland's Beach Awards are the benchmark for quality, celebrating clean, well managed and sustainable beaches as well as being able to demonstrate excellent beach management and environmental best practice, and the maintenance of high standards; further understands that to gain an award, beaches must meet standards across three areas of Scotland's Beach Awards, which are Access, Facilities and Safety, Local Environmental Quality, and Communities and Heritage, and believes that Scotland’s coast is a valuable asset, which not only provides habitats for species, but provides space for activities and people to relax and enjoy being outdoors.
