That the Parliament formally welcomes the establishment of Restraint Reduction Scotland, a group which highlights the misuse of restrictive practices in Scotland and that advocates to ensure that, where restraints are used, they are done so safely; recognises the long history of campaigning to highlight this issue through various means, such as the Children and Young People’s Commissioner Scotland report, published in 2018, No Safe Place: Restraint and Seclusion in Scotland’s Schools, the ENABLE Scotland’s In Safe Hands? Campaign, and the formation of the Physical Intervention Working Group in 2020; considers that the formation of Restraint Reduction Scotland is the next step on this journey of campaigning to eliminate the misuse of restrictive practices, and celebrates the 100-plus members of Restraint Reduction Scotland who come together to share their knowledge and experience to support the elimination of misuse of restrictive practices in Scotland.
