North Uist Distillery Co. to Establish New Distillery in Benbecula

That the Parliament congratulates Jonny Ingledew and Kate Macdonald of North Uist Distillery Co. on their plans to convert Nunton Steadings in Benbecula, into a distillery; notes that the project has been successful in securing £250,000 of funding from Highlands and Islands Enterprise; understands that it will produce whisky and gin, sourcing bere barley from local crofters from the islands; notes its plans to create a new community hub and visitor destination, and wishes Jonny and Kate every success with their new venture.
