Renfrewshire Residents in HM The Queen’s Jubilee Birthday Honours List 2022

That the Parliament pays tribute to residents of Renfrewshire who have received awards in HM The Queen’s Jubilee Birthday Honours List 2022; notes that these include former police officer, Maria Hewitt, from Paisley, who was awarded the BEM for services to the NHS, having re-trained as a vaccinator and nurse during the COVID-19 pandemic, following the death from COVID-19 of her police officer husband, John, in June 2020; commends Scottish Ambulance Service workers, Ross Nelson and Stuart McLellan, who were awarded MBEs for voluntary and charitable services, having co-founded Neilston and Uplawmoor First Responders in 2013; commends their organisation, which has attended more than 2,000 call-outs to help people in distress; notes that Dr Graham Haddock, from Bridge of Weir, has been awarded an OBE for services to young people for his various roles with Scouts Scotland spanning more than four decades; further notes that Paisley-resident, Colin Edgar, will receive an MBE for services to local government in Glasgow, and specifically in relation to the city council’s role in the UK’s hosting of COP26 in 2021, and recognises the outstanding and inspirational contributions of these individuals and all those who were recognised in the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Honours for supporting and improving their communities.
