  • Submitted by: Murdo Fraser, Mid Scotland and Fife, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 26 May 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-04563

That the Parliament commiserates with Rangers FC and its supporters following the loss to Eintracht Frankfurt on penalties in the final of the Europa League in Seville, Spain; notes the reported comments from the Spanish police praising the behaviour of the Rangers fans in the city, understood to number around 100,000; understands that no arrests were made; considers that the fans, who came from all parts of Scotland, including Mid-Scotland and Fife, and across the world, were excellent ambassadors for Scotland with their good conduct; believes that it was a great achievement to reach the final of this prestigious cup, and wishes Rangers FC all the best for the future.
