The City of Dunfermline

  • Submitted by: Alexander Stewart, Mid Scotland and Fife, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 23 May 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-04556

That the Parliament congratulates Dunfermline on gaining city status, thus becoming the eighth city in Scotland; acknowledges what it sees as the potential benefits and civic pride, both to businesses and communities, that such a prestigious title instils; considers that, for a place with such rich royal history, it is fitting that Dunfermline is becoming a city in the year of celebrating the country's longest-serving Monarch's Platinum Jubilee, and commends everyone involved in this entire historic process.
