That the Parliament commends Christopher Mathers, who volunteers with Quarriers, on being shortlisted as a finalist in the Volunteer of the Year category in the Scottish Council of Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) 2022 Scottish Charity Awards; understands that the Volunteer of the Year award commemorates volunteers who have gone that extra mile and made a significant difference to their organisation, community or cause; notes that SCVO, the national membership organisation for the voluntary sector, aims to support, promote and develop a confident, sustainable voluntary sector in Scotland; understands that Quarriers is one of Scotland’s leading social care charities, and it works to challenge poverty and inequality of opportunity to bring about positive change in people’s lives; believes that the contributions by Christopher and Quarriers have been invaluable across Scotland, and congratulates Christopher on his achievement in being shortlisted.
