Recognising the Work of the Homeless Project Scotland

  • Submitted by: Pam Duncan-Glancy, Glasgow, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 09 May 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-04287

That the Parliament thanks and recognises what it sees as the incredible work of the Homeless Project Scotland; believes that homelessness across Scotland, particularly in the city of Glasgow, is unacceptable, and that having a home is a human right; understands that the Homeless Project Scotland provides hundreds of meals to homeless people every week; believes that, although this service is crucial, it should not be necessary and that more needs to be done to end homelessness; considers that, until this is achieved, it is necessary to continue supporting the work of organisations like the Homeless Project Scotland, and calls on the Scottish Government and Glasgow City Council to find the Homeless Project Scotland a premises within the city so that it can continue to undertake what it sees as its vital work indoors, offering dignity and respect to the people who need its support.
