  • Submitted by: Natalie Don, Renfrewshire North and West, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 29 April 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-04184

That the Parliament congratulates Shopmobility Paisley and District on its pilot project to extend services to villages across Renfrewshire, with the aim of ensuring that those experiencing mobility issues can access mobility scooters and wheelchairs at low and no cost, depending on the period of hire; notes that, from its base in Paisley, Shopmobility Paisley and District serves the whole of Renfrewshire; understands that this location is not always convenient for those in the villages; further understands that, if successful, this pilot project will see mobility scooters and wheelchairs based in community premises across the county, providing easier access for those who want to use this service; welcomes this move by Shopmobility Paisley and District, and hopes that it will allow for a continued expansion of its services.
