25 Years of Ralston Skills

That the Parliament commends and congratulates Ralston Skills for 25 years of devoted service to the community of Ralston and the wider Paisley and Renfrewshire area; understands that Ralston Skills is based at Ralston Community Sports Centre and that it is a grassroots, volunteer-run, community sports club for children aged five to 17 that promotes inclusive, healthy and enjoyable physical activity for school-aged children every Saturday morning; further understands that the club offers a wide range of different sports and volunteering opportunities, and that it has been estimated that it caters for over 60 youngsters every week; notes the celebration fun day of the club’s Silver Jubilee that took place on 23 April 2022, which it considers to have been a fabulous and fitting tribute to the vital place of the club in the community; understands that the anniversary event was attended by St Mirren legend, Billy Davies, who it understands is one of the founders of Ralston Skills and presented current members with medals; further understands that it also featured a wide range of activities organised by Ralston Community Council, including face-painting, two inflatable assault courses, a candy floss machine, a home-baking stall, which it understands was organised by St Mark’s Church, a plant sale and an art competition to design a new Community Council logo; commends the work of Norrie Murray and all those who play such a key role in running Ralston Skills, and wishes all those associated with the club the very best for the future.
