  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 27 April 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-04141

That the Parliament recognises Stop Food Waste Day, which is celebrated on 27 April 2022; applauds this international day of action in the fight against food waste; understands that 33% of all food produced globally is lost or wasted every year and that 8% of all greenhouse gas emissions each year are due to food loss and waste; believes that there is a need to tackle food waste to meet Scotland’s climate targets, and acknowledges what it sees as the important contribution of Stop Food Waste Day partners, including Compass Scotland and its parent company, Compass Group UK and Ireland, in implementing sustainable practices and working to drive change.
