  • Date lodged: Monday, 07 March 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-03419

That the Parliament commends what it sees as the dedication of Lynn Martin, clinical director of the Martin Veterinary Centre in Kirkintilloch; understands that the popular vet is stepping down from her post after serving for 40 years at the same practice; wishes to thank Lynn for her empathy and skill in providing care for pets and their families; understands that Lynn's career aspirations of caring for animals can be traced to the time at which she started school; further understands that Lynn was an outstanding student at the University of Glasgow, graduating with commendation and winning several industry-wide accolades in recognition of her commitment to the profession; delights that, in striving for excellence, Lynn was recognised, it understands, through winning the East Dunbartonshire Women in Business Award 2015, and gained first place in the prized British Veterinary Hospital Association Veterinary Practice Design Awards in the same year, as the surgery moved into new premises at the Kirkintilloch Marina, and extends its best wishes and thanks to Lynn and her colleagues on behalf, it understands, of the many constituents whose pets have grown to appreciate their care at the Martin Veterinary Centre.
