That the Parliament supports the vision of the Transport for Strathclyde: A New Public Transport Network strategy; understands that the document has been endorsed on a cross-party basis by local authority representatives on Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) since its publication in 2021; notes what it sees as the efforts of SPT to maintain and continue this cross-party support of Councillors in the future and for the implementation of the strategy; acknowledges what it sees as the importance of similar cross-party support from MSPs if the vision within the document is to be delivered; agrees with the ten tests within the document, including the creation of a public transport system which is available, accessible, affordable, ecologically and economically sustainable, integrated, efficient, reliable, safe and enjoyable; commends the work that is ongoing in communities, local authorities and through various partnerships, both regionally and locally, to improve the provision of public transport across the country; commits to taking a united view on the aims, vision and aspirations within the Transport for Strathclyde: A New Public Transport Network document, and calls on the Scottish Government to fully resource its implementation using the powers available in the Transport (Scotland) Act 2019.
