NHS Re-launch "Don't Wait" Campaign to Help People Quit Smoking

  • Submitted by: Sue Webber, Lothian, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 28 January 2022
  • Motion reference: S6M-02923

That the Parliament welcomes the news that NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, NHS Lanarkshire and NHS Lothian have partnered together to support those who wish to quit smoking, by re-launching their campaign "Don't Wait"; acknowledges that smoking remains a leading cause of preventable disease and premature death in Scotland, and this joint campaign between some of Scotland's largest NHS boards focuses on the harms that smoking can cause and the NHS stop-smoking services that are available to support people who are ready to stub-out the addiction, and welcomes the cross-health board approach to tacking this serious issue.
