Stephen Dempsey Wins Institute of Physics Award

That the Parliament congratulates Stephen Dempsey of Turriff Academy on being chosen among the winners of this year’s Teacher of Physics Award by the Institute of Physics; notes that the judges described Mr Dempsey as an outstanding teacher and that students frequently praised the quality of his lessons, and considered that he enhanced the learning experience for students of all abilities; recognises that Mr Dempsey was judged to foster curiosity about science and physics and that he was involved in extra-curricular activities; further recognises the importance of teachers like Mr Dempsey to the education of children in Scottish society; applauds Mr Dempsey for his success, and wishes him well.
