The Scottish Parliament Pays Tribute to Sir David Amess MP

That the Parliament pays tribute to Sir David Amess MP, who was murdered while carrying out his duties as the Member of Parliament for Southend West in what is currently believed to be an act of terror; offers its sincere condolences to Sir David’s family, friends and colleagues, including his wife and five children; recognises his 38 years of dedicated and selfless service to his constituents in Parliament; gratefully acknowledges the work of the Police across the country in keeping elected representatives safe; believes that constituency surgeries are a cornerstone of our democracy, and is steadfast in the view that parliamentarians must continue to remain accessible to their constituents in the future.
